In such cases, the second fraudster may purchase the victim from the first or agree to share the profits if the scam succeeds. If the victim is remarkably naive or gullible, she is designated a sure client, someone likely to comply with whatever the scammer demands.

The ultimate goal for the fraudster is to bill the CL and persuade her to transfer money. This is called cracking the client’s code.
